The Malayalee Association of Pretoria (MAP) stands as a vital community organization established by Malayalee residents residing in Pretoria, South Africa. Our foundation is deeply embedded in the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of Kerala, a historically significant and geographically diverse state situated on the southwestern Coast of India. Driven by a profound commitment to the preservation of our cherished traditions and core values, MAP dedicates itself to fostering robust social cohesion, facilitating meaningful cultural exchange, and providing steadfast mutual support not only within the Malayalee community but also extending outwards to the broader South African society.
The Malayalee Association of Pretoria (MAP) was established in 2011 to connect South Africans with Kerala origin.
We aim to: Preserve Kerala's heritage: MAP provides a welcoming space to celebrate and share traditions. Showcase talents: We offer various functions and gatherings for the community to showcase their skills, passions, and talents. Foster community spirit: We organize various functions and activities that allow the community to interact with each other. Support diplomatic relations: MAP interacts with the Indian Consulate and High Commission to further the interests of the Kerala community in South Africa. We also disseminate information from these institutions to our members. Support the Malayalee community: MAP actively participates in social and philanthropic opportunities. Empower future generations: We endeavor to foster a sense of community and service among Malayalee youth
MAP envisions a vibrant, cohesive, and empowered Malayalee community within Pretoria, where our deeply valued cultural heritage is not only meticulously preserved but also actively celebrated and seamlessly transmitted to succeeding generations. We aspire to cultivate an inclusive environment where every member of our community can flourish, fostering a strong sense of unity, belonging, and mutual support.
We extend a warm invitation to all Malayalees residing in Pretoria and to all individuals who share an interest in our culture to join us in our collective endeavours to strengthen our community bonds, celebrate our rich heritage, and contribute meaningfully to the diverse tapestry of South Africa.
